CORAL MANTA gives you the peace of mind you need when owning a private pool… It is constantly watching and analyzing your pool underwater.

HOW IS CORAL MANTA DIFFERENT?

Existing pool safety devices such as fences, pool covers or mechanical alarms merely attempt to prevent unauthorized access to the pool. But they become useless when someone is already in the pool (whether authorized or not). In contrast, CORAL MANTA "watches" the pool 24/7 when there are people in the pool and when the pool is not in use. Moreover, while existing alarms require you to deactivate and reactivate when using or exiting the pool, with CORAL MANTA you do not need to worry about forgetting to activate or deactivate, covering or uncovering, locking or unlocking anything. CORAL MANTA is on the lookout nonstop, day and night.

ONE SYSTEM, TWO LAYERS OF ADVANCED PROTECTION

The CORAL system alerts you in two cases:
- Entry Alert – As soon as it “sees” a child or a person entering the pool for the first time (after the pool was completely empty for several minutes) the CORAL will sound a short alert to let you know that someone is in the pool.
- Drowning Risk alert: As soon as CORAL “sees” a motionless child / person, with the head under the surface of the water, it will start sounding a loud and escalating alarm
All alarms are sound in the pool itself, in the plug I home unit, and push notifications are sent to all the paired smartphones a long with the image of the event that triggered the alarm.

HOW DOES IT DO THAT?

CORAL MANTA (US patent pending # 62/287,165) constantly monitors the pool with its built-in underwater video camera, using computer vision and artificial intelligence technology . CORAL MANTA is programmed to detect people in the pool as well as their position and motion. Using this technology it constantly analyzes the real time video that it captures from the underwater camera and whenever it identifies a near drowning event it generates an alarm. Simultaneously and just in case you are not around, it is sending alerts to all household members via their smart-phones / tablets.

A BIT ABOUT DROWNING?

Imagine floating on the water and then breathing out all the air from your lungs. You probably know the feeling of sinking and the immediate urge to breathe in to keep afloat. Without air in your lungs, your body sinks. Accordingly in most cases, when a person drowns he or she sinks to the bottom quickly. CORAL MANTA identifies such a situation and sets off an alarm.

BUT ISN’T IT TOO LATE?

For children, irreversible damage to the brain tissues typically starts to occur after about 4-5 minutes without oxygen, (for adults it is after about 3-4 minutes).
CORAL MANTA detects when a person sinks, meaning seconds after she or he stopped breathing, and it sets off a series of escalating alarms within seconds. This gives you ample time to get the person out of the water, and start CPR or any other essential action.

People who drown and are removed from the water within such a time frame have very high chances of surviving without any damage.

NOT THE POOL ALARM YOU THOUGHT

Unlike the "standard" pool alarms, the CORAL system is not based on a float mechanism but rather on camera and AI software that "understands" what it sees, so:

• CORAL “sees” people. Pool alarms “sense” water motion
• CORAL uses an under water camera and AI / computer vision based technology. Pool alarms use mechanical floats
• CORAL "watches" the pool 24/7. Pool alarms cannot be used when using the pool since people make waves that trigger the alarm
• CORAL alerts only upon detecting a person entering or at risk of drowning. Pool alarms alerts when sensing motion in the water that can be triggered also by wind, pool vacuum, etc thus generate many false alarms
• CORAL is always on. You cannot even turn it off if you want since there is no On/Off button. With Pool alarms you need to remember to reactivate them once everyone is out of the pool.

HOW DOES IT DEAL WITH POOR VISIBILITY & OBSTRUCTIONS?

Using its AI capabilities, the CORAL system can tell how well it sees. The most common visibility issue is related to water cloudiness, especially at the beginning of the summer, after some dust and dirt was accumulateג at the bottom of the pool and when people get in, the dust starts rising and mixed in the water, which makes the pool a bit cloudy.
When CORAL cannot see well all the way to the far end, it will notify by indication of the pool and home unit, as well as notification to your phone.
Another phenomenon happens at the beginning of the summer where the pool “emits” tiny air bubbles that can stick to the dome of the underwater camera. Using its AI capabilities CORAL 'detects' these bubbles and when they become too crowded the system activate an internal vibrating mechanism for a fraction of a second to get rid of them

CAN I LEAVE MY POOL UNATTENDED?

CORAL MANTA is not a replacement for all the usual precautions you need to take in your pool, such as not leaving children unattended inside, or in the vicinity of the pool. CORAL MANTA detects the vast majority of the drowning cases, but in the same way you would not drive recklessly just because you have a safety belt and an airbag, you should not rely solely on any safety system when people’s life is at stake. Adult supervision is always required.

SO WHAT HAPPENS AT NIGHT?

The CORAL systems is based on computer vision (camera), so how does it work at night when its dark?
Just like us, CORAL has secondary sensor, in this case water motion sensor.
At night when its dark, if the "camera" cannot see, CORAL relies more on its water motion sensor.
When the water is moving at a suspicious manner, and it is too dark for the camera to "see", the CORAL system will "flash" with its integrated illumination system to try a "see" better.
If it ends up seeing a person, it will send the normal "entry notification".
If after several attempts it will still not see any person, but the water motion is such that may indicate a person entered the pool, it will send s "Suspicious Water movement " notification

HOW WAS IT TESTED?

During the development process CORAL MANTA was tested in thousands of scenarios simulating drowning events, in a wide variety of swimming pools, with adults and children.
But there is more. CORAL MANTA is using Artificial Intelligence technology that constantly continues to "learn" and improve, and even to adjust to your own pool.

UNLIKE ANY OTHER SYSTEM

- Unlike pool alarms, there is no need to turn on or off when using or cleaning the pool. CORAL MANTA is not sensitive to motion but instead constantly analyzes video imaging of the people in the pool.
- Unlike pool cover or fence, there is no worry about opening or closing them since CORAL MANTA is active 24/7, when the pool in in use, and when the pool is empty.
- Unlike wrist bands, you do not need to have one for each child, or be concerned whether the child wears it all the time or took it off, simply because CORAL MANTA uses camera to track the kids in the pool all the time.

CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT

CORAL MANTA comes out of the box with a lot of "knowledge" that enables it to detect most drowning events, while generating minimum false alarms.
But, your pool may have different and unique features that CORAL MANTA never "saw" before.
Thus, in the first couple of weeks, it may generate more false alarms than usual.
When there is a false alarm, using your App, you can tell CORAL MANTA to ignore it, and this is how it learns and the rate of false alarms will drop dramatically to close to zero.
